		<description>Technically it was the Goldschmidt Geochemist's Conference with 2000 geologists attending for 6 days. An annual international event that we got to host partly because one of our resident geologists complained about the technology at a prior conference. We were put on the spot, and we delivered with flying colors, BTW. I watched several sessions and learned new and interesting things about the earth ... at least when I was able to understand the lingo.</description>

Why, pray tell, are you being overrun by hordes of geologists?  I find them quite fascinating in small numbers, but hordes of academics of any description are often a worry.</description>
