I’m sorry, but we’ve gone and done something silly: Sub-Evil Boy and I made our first podcast.
This is pretty rough and goofy stuff, so waste the bandwidth at your own peril. This episode features the two of us totally butchering a fine pair Christmas carols (I’m particularly amused by what we did with “Deck the halls” at the very end), and a perhaps slightly over-long “news” report on the demise of Godzilla followed by a discussion of the great short the classic short Bambi meets Godzilla (I got the names reversed in our discussion).
I have no idea if we’ll ever do another one of these again. It was way too amusing, but I could hardly describe the results as high art. It was also somewhat time consuming which made it easier to pull off on Christmas eve than during the chaos of “real life”. I’m also not entirely sure that WeatherGirl will continue to allow us to remain in the house if we continue to produce these insults to human intelligence, but we’ll have to wait and see :-).
If you really want to suffer you can use stuff our RSS feed link into a Podcast capable thingy like iTunes and get automatic updates. Sorry about that. Really.

Phi, I think it’s safe to say that you and Sub-Evil have lost it! :)
Is there any chance that you’ll subject the masses in Morris to this silliness by playing it on KUMM?
Joey
I’ll have to take that up with the Board of Directors here at Unhindered By Talent. One could argue that this is essentially just our KUMM banter with a little editing to clean up some of the bits that were even worse than the frightful stuff we released, but I’m not sure what that tells us about playing it on the air.
Thanks for listening, though!
Cool. Keep up the good banter :)
Not sure why, but using the RSS feed I get 2 podcasts, the 2nd one is only 10 seconds long and isn’t a coherent 10 (even by the first podcast’s standards) seconds.
Thanks for the heads up. There are indeed two enclosures in the RSS feed. I think it may be because I accidentally uploaded the wrong file the first time and had to replace it. I bet that confused things. Let me have a look and see if I can fix that.
“even by the first podcast’s standards” indeed :-).
There were indeed two enclosures on that post. I think I’ve successfully removed the extra one, but let me know if you have any further problems, and thanks again for letting me know about the problem!
OK, that wasn’t actually the problem. The real problem was that I had a link to an AIF file with the Harry Allen sample on the “Time to mix it up!” post, and WordPress got all smart and made an enclosure out of it! Thus our podcast stream was inappropriately and unexpectedly including a 10 minute sample of Harry Allen with no explanation or pre-amble. For the life of me I couldn’t figure out how to get it to stop automagically making the enclosure, so I just removed the link. I’ll have to look into that further, as it would be nice to be able to point to sound files without automatically including them in our podcast RSS. Thanks one more time for pointing out the problem!
