I first noticed this sign yesterday walking home after my morning walk with Sub-Evil Boy. Presumably they’ve had some big lorries follow their sat nav system and get stuck down the end of this little road. Can’t quite decide whether I think this is hilarious or sad. Perhaps both. (Geotagging it on Flickr was a pleasantly ironic experience as well.)

Har! In my mom’s town, there are some streets that stop abruptly at the top of large rocks, then continue 20 feet below. Google Maps shows these as through streets…
Happy Thanksgiving from the new world Phi. Hope you get a chance to enjoy the tradition with your family.
OmegaMom: Wow – that’s really scary! Let us hope that there aren’t sat nav systems out there sending the unwary off 20 foot drops.
Desert Donkey: Wonderful to hear from you again sir! Thanks for the kind thoughts and best wishes to you and yours as well.
As far as Google Maps knows, we live on a dead end street … even though it was punched through to a new housing area 2 years ago. The new streets with the new houses are shown, but not the connection. Go figure.
We have the reverse here. They know about our street, but their satellite imagery still shows the whole apartment complex area as waste ground.
