Yes
A movie that satisfies the senses and the intelligence. The combination of visuals and sound form a beautiful and satisfying whole. A variety of emotions are evoked ranging from amusement to sadness, from regret to exhilaration and all points in between. This movie functions on so many different levels I certainly cannot claim to understand everything it has to say. (I suspect it will reveal new ideas on repeated viewing.) My favourite moment was when the soon to be lovers meet at the top of some stairs. The music and the juddering visuals seemed perfectly married and emotionally resonant.
Embarrassingly, as the credits rolled, I told Phi how much I loved the music and right then Fred Frith’s name came up as being involved. Obviously listening to all Phi’s weird noise music is having an effect!
