The Corpse Bride

Disappointing. After all the positive reviews I expected to have a great night at the movies. Visually, very beautiful, for sure but I didn’t give a rip about the characters and, I must confess, I actually fell asleep which is a very bad sign. The guys really enjoyed it, so who knows, perhaps I’m off my rocker.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Wow! Watching the previews I’d been a little worried about this movie. They did not encourage positive thoughts about the movie in me. So with a little trepidation I joined the family at the local picture house on opening night. What a wonderful surprise, it was fabulous. I loved it. The weirdness that was Willy Wonka, when seen in context, worked perfectly. Visually stunning, this is definitely a must see movie.
