Terrible glory

These are four scanned pictures of hardcopies I possess of the French nuclear test codenamed Licorne, which was fired on August 24, 1970 . The French army had those pictures taken on site.

Those pictures were readily available at the time at Tahiti and Moruroa military base, and mine have been quite degraded. I scanned them and tried to restore them.

Something from the Colchester Castle that’s a bit more light hearted than Rendition. I loved this face on an old Roman pot. Amazing how a wonderful little quip like this can both physically survive the thousands of years, while also having it’s cultural content can so obviously survive across all that human history and still make me smile.

So it’s my desktop photo at work at the moment :-).
