Never have so many bison…

I hadn’t been over to Setharoo’s blog in way too long, and Lo! and Behold!, his most recent post is a pointer this this absolutely wonderful Wikipedia entry. Yup, not only is “Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.” a grammatically and semantically legal sentence (if a bit tricky to wrap my head around), there’s a Wikipedia entry on it. Definitely proof that there’s hope for us all…

And because I’m an added value kinda guy, I’ll leave you with this equally amazing shot by Leviathor of a bison in Yellowstone.

Adventures of a small interloper

So there I am, minding my own business and taking photos of my cayenne peppers, and this little lady wanders in, demanding attention. (Some insects are such lens hogs!) After some discussion, it became clear that the fasted way to get rid of her would be to humor her and take a few shots.

It was a little embarrassing when she flipped on her back, waving her little legs in the air, but she managed to use her wing covers to pop up on her nose (bottom shot), and then right herself. But she had all kinds of trouble getting one of her wings folded up and put away properly, and wandered around with it hanging our for a bit (middle). I promised not to tell :-).

View this puppy large – it blows up pretty huge, and there’s lots of quality insect detail to be had.
