Sub-Evil Boy’s at it again, and wrote a really nice poem yesterday about his unfortunate experiences with a bat and way too many rabies shots. Very cool poem. He graciously doesn’t doesn’t mention how my lack of action put his life at serious risk. So I will. Public flagellation is a good thing. Really.

Gotta love Sandman
WeatherGirl gave me Season of mists, volume 4 in Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series. I’m only about 20% of the way through, but the writing continues to be quite excellent. Lucifer’s discussion of his role (or lack thereof) in people’s lives and his utter disinterest in their souls or their punishments is worth the price of admission all on its own.
The one downside is that it’s been a while (up to a year) since I read volumes 1-3. The universe he creates is really dense and full of (wonderful) crossreferences, and I’m constantly struggling to put together those links to the bits that I read way back when. I really should stop, re-read 1 through 3, and then do 4, but I just don’t have the time right now and I’m totally sucked in so I’ll just keep going (kind of like this sentence) even though it’s a struggle :-).
