So I&#8217;ve included the results of a game of &#8220;My Aunt went on a trip and in her handbag she carried&#8230;&#8221; that <a href=\"http:\/\/UnhinderedByTalent.com\/SubEvilBoy\">Sub-Evil Boy<\/a> and I started on the way to school yesterday and finished up on the way in this morning.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s no doubt an interesting psychological study to be performed on the basis of this data, and I&#8217;m expecting people to promptly start submitting applications to major granting agencies.  Not that I&#8217;m going to help, though&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Page 2 (the little &#8216;2&#8217; link) is the playlist, and Page 3 is the handbag list.  Have fun!<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p>Since we save <a href=\"http:\/\/csci.morris.umn.edu\/UMMCSciWiki\/bin\/view\/Mcphee\/RadioShowPlaylist\">the playlists of our radio shows<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/kumm.org\">KUMM<\/a>, I thought it might be useful (to me if no one else) to write up some quick notes of what stuck (in a good way) from this week&#8217;s show.<\/p>\n<p>We had a great opening sequence.  <a href=\"http:\/\/UnhinderedByTalent.com\/SubEvilBoy\">Sub-evil Boy<\/a> started the show off with an excellent oldie he dredged up off the stacks:  Pop Will Eat Itself&#8217;s &#8220;Ich bin ein auslander&#8221; from <cite>Dos dedos mis amigos<\/cite>.  <a href=\"http:\/\/UnhinderedByTalent.com\/WeatherGirl\">WeatherGirl<\/a> predictably followed with the wonderful title track &#8220;No wow&#8221; from The Kills new album; we&#8217;ve played this every week for something like a month now, but it&#8217;s still a quality air guitar experience after all this time.  In honor of the fine <a href=\"http:\/\/doomtree.net\">Doomtree<\/a> show last night, I then played &#8220;Everything floats&#8221; from Dessa&#8217;s fine <cite>False hopes<\/cite> EP. We rock!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>British Sea Power &#8211; Open season &#8211; Please stand up &#8211; N &#8211; OK, if not great<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Lots of the DJs here are digging the new British Sea Power album, but I wasn&#8217;t terribly impressed with what we played.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Mogwai &#8211; Government commissions &#8211; Hunted by a freak &#8211; N &#8211; Y!<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>A very cool album, and it&#8217;s great hearing John Peel&#8217;s voice at the intro of this song.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Ex, The &#8211; Turn &#8211; Sister &#8211; Y<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>This album deserved more play when it was in the new section, so I&#8217;m still playing it almost every week :-).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>M.I.A. &#8211; Arular &#8211; Pull up the people &#8211; N &#8211; Y!!<\/li>\n<li>Charming Hostess &#8211; Punch &#8211; Aish ye kdish &#8211; Y!!<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Two fine songs in a row.  We&#8217;ve really enjoyed the new M.I.A. material (and this is perhaps my favorite), and <cite>Punch<\/cite> is still just about my favoritest new album of the year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>John Debo &#8211; Logic Trance 5 &#8211; Depth charge (by Cimmera) &#8211; N &#8211; OK, if not great<\/li>\n<li>Stereolab &#8211; Oscillons from the anti-sun &#8211; Wow and flutter &#8211; N &#8211; Good in a Stereolab sort of way<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>This is a promo for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pitchforkmedia.com\/news\/04-10\/29.shtml\">a boxed set<\/a> that I may just have to add to my wish list&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Static Age, The &#8211; Neon nights electric lives &#8211; It never seems to last &#8211; N &#8211; OK, if not great<\/li>\n<li>Pamela Martinez &#8211; Pamela Martinez &#8211; Inzolen &#8211; N &#8211; Very Bjork sounding, but not as interesting IMHO<\/li>\n<li>Bloc Party &#8211; Silent alarm &#8211; This modern love &#8211; N &#8211; Y<\/li>\n<li>Raveonettes, The &#8211; Pretty in black &#8211; Uncertain times &#8211; N &#8211; OK, if not great<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>I liked &#8220;Love in a trashcan&#8221; from the promo EP more than this.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Blade II soundtrack &#8211; Blade II soundtrack &#8211; Gangsta queens (Trina \/ Rah-digga &#038; Groove Armada) &#8211; Y!<\/li>\n<li>Pablo Moses &#8211; Pave the way &#8211; Pave the way &#8211; N &#8211; <\/li>\n<li>Perceptionists, The &#8211; Black dialogue &#8211; What have we got to lose?!? &#8211; N &#8211; <\/li>\n<li>Vic Chesnutt &#8211; Ghetto bells &#8211; Little caesar &#8211; N &#8211; Y!<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>This was one of the highlights of the show for me.  I like Chesnutt, and this was cool in an old Tom Waits kind of way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Blueprint &#8211; 1988 &#8211; Liberated &#8211; N &#8211; Y (but a big DNP that wasn&#8217;t marked :-( )<\/li>\n<li>Low &#8211; The great destroyer &#8211; Monkey &#8211; N &#8211; Y!<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>I like Low&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Laurent Garnier &#8211; The cloud making machine &#8211; (I wanna be) Waiting for my plane &#8211; N &#8211; Nice, but a bit long\/repetative.
