{"id":261,"date":"2005-11-21T10:02:03","date_gmt":"2005-11-21T15:02:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/UnhinderedByTalent.com\/Phi\/?p=261"},"modified":"2005-11-21T10:04:06","modified_gmt":"2005-11-21T15:04:06","slug":"i-smell-a-trend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/UnhinderedByTalent.com\/Phi\/archives\/2005\/11\/21\/i-smell-a-trend\/","title":{"rendered":"I smell a trend&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the same day that I (finally) post about my biking accident, <a href=\"http:\/\/pharyngula.org\/\">PeeZed<\/a> has <a href=\"http:\/\/pharyngula.org\/index\/weblog\/comments\/thump\/\">an unfortunate interaction with a ladder and leaves<\/a>.  While the casual observer might not make a connection&#8230;<em>I smell a conspiracy<\/em>!<\/p>\n<p>Think about it &#8211; there are just too many connections to ignore.  <a href=\"http:\/\/pharyngula.org\/index\/weblog\/comments\/weblogging_and_tenure\/\">PeeZed and I are the only two publicly blogging faculty at UMM that we know of<\/a>.  And that&#8217;s just the beginning.  Certainly anyone with the analytical skills of an ID supporter can see that this is <\/p>\n<h3 align='center'>a conspiracy to silence us:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Middle-aged<\/li>\n<li>White<\/li>\n<li>Male<\/li>\n<li>Married<\/li>\n<li>Heterosexual<\/li>\n<li>Scientist<\/li>\n<li>Faculty<\/li>\n<li>At <a href=\"http:\/\/www.morris.umn.edu\/\">UMM<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Who are bloggers,<\/li>\n<li>Support and study evolution,<\/li>\n<li>Have highly nerdly tendencies,<\/li>\n<li>And have kids<\/li>\n<li>Who are heavily into theater (<a href=\"http:\/\/pharyngula.org\/index\/weblog\/comments\/captain_hook\/\">theirs<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/unhinderedbytalent.com\/Phi\/archives\/2005\/08\/07\/sub-evil-boy-does-another-fine-job-in-peter-pan\/\">ours<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Surely this can&#8217;t be a coincidence, can it?  First we learn that global warming is &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.venganza.org\/\">a direct effect of the shrinking numbers of Pirates since the 1800s<\/a>&#8221; and now this.  Maybe I should start an on-line petition where we can all express our concern in an effort to ensure that Our Fearless Leader adds this to the priority list for Our Nation&#8217;s Security.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, that&#8217;s the ticket&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.warninglabelgenerator.com\/\"><img src='https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/UnhinderedByTalent.com\/Phi\/wp-content\/images\/warninglabel.png?w=840&#038;ssl=1' alt='Warning label' data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>(Ain&#8217;t it <em>amazing<\/em> what you can infer from two data points?)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Currently listening to<\/strong>:  The tremendous &#8220;Death letter blues&#8221; by Son House.
