I ran across a link on <a href=\"http:\/\/del.icio.us\/\">del.icio.us<\/a> to a <a href=\"http:\/\/elshaarani.com\/\">nice on-line collection of arabic calligraphy by Mouneer Al-Shaarani<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/nicmcphee\/14152989\/\" title=\"Photo Sharing\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.flickr.com\/9\/14152989_df78bbe53b_m.jpg?resize=240%2C180\" width=\"240\" height=\"180\" alt='Detail from \"Frequency'\" align='left' hspace='10' vspace='10' data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nI figured <a href=\"http:\/\/UnhinderedByTalent.com\/WeatherGirl\/\">WeatherGirl<\/a> would want to check it out since she&#8217;s really into art based (sometimes quite loosely) on text and text-like figures.  This calligraphy is nice, then, because it really shows the broad  possibilities in (arabic) calligraphy ranging from very &#8220;traditional&#8221; to extremely abstract.  Neat stuff.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Currently listening to:<\/strong>  The way-nifty <cite>John Peel:  A tribute<\/cite> 2 CD set that WeatherGirl&#8217;s mum gave me for Xmas.
