It&#8217;s nice to know that we&#8217;ve sorted out at least one of those pesky myths.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/31\/97570818_3b9ec36742_o_d.jpg?w=840\" alt=\"Shattering the myth of white supremecy\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The quote appears to be for real (and old), as per <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/articles\/A23747-2005Apr3.html\">this article from WashingtonPost.com<\/a> back in April, &#8217;05:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nBut there was nothing inadvertent about a quip from Rep. Charles B. Rangel (D-N.Y.), second-most senior member of the Congressional Black Caucus. Rangel was interviewed on New York Public Television WLIW21 last Monday night and asked for his quick reaction to various people. The first was Bush.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well,&#8221; Rangel said. &#8220;I really think that he shatters the myth of white supremacy once and for all; it shows that, in this great country, anybody can become president.&#8221;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>No idea who did the little graphic.  I found it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pensitoreview.com\/2006\/02\/26\/rangel-bush-shatters-the-myth-of-white-supremacy\/\">on blogs<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/62843780@N00\/97570818\/in\/set-72057594086760097\">on Flickr<\/a>, but no one was clear about whether they created it or found it elsewhere.
