{"id":55,"date":"2005-02-06T21:05:38","date_gmt":"2005-02-07T03:05:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/UnhinderedByTalent.com\/Phi\/archives\/2005\/02\/06\/the-future-of-media-distribution\/"},"modified":"2005-02-06T21:10:51","modified_gmt":"2005-02-07T03:10:51","slug":"the-future-of-media-distribution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/UnhinderedByTalent.com\/Phi\/archives\/2005\/02\/06\/the-future-of-media-distribution\/","title":{"rendered":"The future of media distribution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Via a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kuro5hin.org\/story\/2005\/2\/3\/9525\/78860\">Kuro5shin article<\/a>, I just ran across an article on Wired.com entitled &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/wired\/archive\/12.10\/tail.html?pg=1&#038;topic=(none)&#038;topic_set=(none)\">The Long Tail<\/a>&#8221; that says some really nice things about the impact of digital media on its sales and distribution.<\/p>\n<p>The short version is that there&#8217;s at least some reason to hope that the vanishing distribution costs can break the stranglehold of Big Media with its emphasis on the big hits.
