I&#8217;ll simply point out that the tone of his &#8220;profile&#8221; is wildly out of line with the others that I&#8217;ve looked over, and someone on Time&#8217;s editorial board should be in for a serious smacking.<\/p>\n<p>Time&#8217;s &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.time.com\/time\/specials\/2007\/time100\/article\/0,28804,1595326_1616364_1616317,00.html\">Alt 100<\/a>&#8221; is in many ways just as perceptive as their official list.  While the whole <em>American Idol<\/em> silliness is deeply depressing to me, and while the idea of <em>Idol<\/em> judges being among the 25 most important people in the country makes me want to cry, it&#8217;s hard to argue with their analysis:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nMore people vote on American Idol than the Presidential elections, Xzibit pointed out. And almost as much is written about it.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sigh.<\/p>\n<p>And then there&#8217;s this gem:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n25. Osama Bin Laden, head of Al Qeda<br \/>\nThe panel pointed out that he&#8217;s likely to outlast Bush as head of an organization.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Oh, joy.
