I was surprisingly underwhelmed by this film.  Given all the hoopla I was expecting to be knocked sideways by its brilliance.  Sadly this was not the case.  There is much to recommend here: the performances of the child actors, the atmosphere of a culture not much featured in western movies and the performance of Anil Kapoor as the TV show host.  Otherwise the plot was quite predictable and pedestrian.
